1. What cookies and localStorage are

Cookies are small text files a website saves on your device via the browser. They allow a site to recognise you on subsequent visits, remember preferences, and — in the case of third-party cookies — track browsing behaviour across multiple sites.

localStorage is a browser mechanism similar to cookies but with key differences: data stored there is never automatically sent to the server with HTTP requests, it has no built-in expiry (it persists until manually cleared), and it's only accessible via JavaScript in the browser. This site uses localStorage exclusively to store your cookie banner choice — nothing else.

2. Technical and strictly necessary cookies

The following cookies (or equivalent technologies) are essential for the site to work and do not require your consent under ePrivacy rules.

Cloudflare cookies (__cf_bm, cf_clearance) are set automatically by the network infrastructure — I have no direct control over their presence, but they form part of the site's technical protection. More info: Cloudflare cookie documentation.

3. Analytics and marketing cookies

This site currently uses no analytics, profiling, or marketing cookies. If traffic statistics are enabled in the future, they will be collected through Cloudflare Web Analytics — a cookieless tool that does not track individual users and collects only aggregated, anonymous data.

Any analytics or marketing tool that would require cookies will only be enabled after your explicit consent via the banner. Choosing "Accept all" enables these tools; "Accept necessary" and "Reject" keep them inactive.

4. The banner and your choices

On your first visit a banner appears with three options:

• Reject: no marketing or analytics cookies; the site continues to work normally with only technical cookies active.
• Accept necessary: same practical effect as "Reject" at the moment, since there are no optional cookies active. Keeps the door closed if any are introduced in the future.
• Accept all: authorises the potential future activation of analytics or marketing tools alongside technical cookies.

Your choice is saved in localStorage under the key cookie-consent and the banner won't appear again on subsequent visits.

5. How to change or withdraw consent

You can update your choice at any time in two ways:

From the browser — clear site data

Clearing the site's stored data from your browser removes the cookie-consent entry and the banner will reappear on your next visit.

• Chrome / Edge: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data → See all site data → search "francescosguotti.com" → Delete
• Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data → search "francescosguotti.com" → Remove
• Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data → search "francescosguotti.com" → Remove

Block all cookies from your browser

Every browser allows you to block cookies globally or per site. Note that blocking technical cookies may affect the correct operation of some websites.

6. Updates to this policy

This Cookie Policy may be updated to reflect new tools or regulatory changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page always shows the current version. If cookies requiring consent are introduced in the future, the banner will be shown again to users who haven't yet expressed a preference for that category.
